BACK ON TRACK

4-19-08 - After 2 weeks of rainouts, the Cornell racing team was back on track as they traveled to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. Jonathan again competed in the 305 and 360 division.

Over 25 sprint cars competed in the 305 divison. Jonathan started outside of the 3rd row in his heat race and drove to a 2nd place finish.
Starting on the outside of the 2nd row in his feature, Jonathan quickly worked his was into the 2nd during the opening laps. He exchanged positions with 3rd place throughout the race, but finally held on to a 2nd place finish.

Close to 60 of the finest 360 drivers from the ASCS National Tour and the Winged Outlaw Warriors invaded Lucas Oil Speedway. Jonathan started 1st i nhis heat race. He took off to have a comanding lead but with just a few laps to go, the car got out from under him causing it to spin. He finished 7th in his heat race.

Do to the misfortune in his heat, Jonathan had to start 6th row outside in the "B Main." The top 3 in the "B" transferred to the "A." Jonathan was going through the field quick and began battling for the transfer spot. The race came to an end and Jonathan finished 4th.

Next week, Jonathan will be racing Steve Smith's sprint car at LA Raceway in La Monte, MO on friday and the 28 team will be traveling to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo on Sunday.
